Across the River was a band from the California desert, active around from mid-late eighties, playing heavy psych rock music, with psychedelic and stoner rock influences along with hardcore punk, blues and 70's hard rock type of stuff. They were highly influential on fellow desert musicians, Brant Bjork and Josh Homme. Kyuss also covered the song "N. O." on their Kyuss [Welcome to Sky Valley] 1994 album.
