Zero Gravity Toilet is a collective of musicians based in Rome, Italy, animated by the wish to write original compositions. Inspired by the musical collectives of the 60’s and 70’s, Zero Gravity Toilet has created a meeting point for people coming from very different regions, studies, skills and artistic paths and has incited a reciprocal exchange of ideas in an experimental and research environment. Starting from a remark made about the social meaning of music, ZGT members have shared the way of creation staying very close to each other and using jam sessions as a song-writing tool in which every contribution is equal. The first album, “Antidotes For Imaginary Friends”, is the result of a process started in October 2007 through many jam sessions and represents a sort of speech in which every syllable is chosen and located in order to weave an exact narrative plot. At the other hand, “Toilet Jam” offers a proof of this journey in its development and gives a sample of this language while it is spontaneously being born and taking a shape: from the alphabet of creation to the story written with the contribution of the imagination of the listener.
