Arisa Ushimaru (Vo/Gt) and Gokkin (Ba) formed yonige in 2013, in the city of Neyagawa, Japan. Their Music Video for 2015 mini-album Coming Spring's lead track Avocado quickly surpassed 2 million views on YouTube, drawing attention to the band. yonige released their first full album, girls like girls, on September, 2017, through unBORDE, a Warner Music Japan label, marking their major debut. After their budokan live in 2019 followed by the release of their second major album 健全な社会 in 2020, yonige parted ways with unBORDE and rejoined their former label, small indies table. They became independent in 2022, preferring the freedom it brings to the table. Deus ex machina was their first single as an indie band, followed by a rearranged version of Psychedelic Yesterday, a new rendition of a track from Coming Spring.
