willowlaun is the ambient, drone, and shoegaze-adjacent music project of john harrison, based in richmond, virginia. john was the former bassist and vocalist for bells on trike, a second-wave midwest emo and post-hardcore band active during the mid-1990s. His music with willowlaun explores dark, dreamy, and nostalgic spaces, built from sampled farfisa organ, processed guitar and bass loops, field recordings, and drifting moog drones. john’s glacial compositions inhabit the space between density and minimalism, using subtle modulations and delays to slowly reveal mood and tension.
