Westwerker are a German slow-punk band, formed near Dortmund in 1988. They have created their style, slow-punk, after the demise of the Iggy Pop of East-Westphalia and the entry of singer Commandante. They have always combined different styles, such as hard-rock and punk, polka and ancient German drinking songs. Westwerker call themselves: alternative and independent. They have been gigging regularly and have released a number of discs on their own label.
