A "ska band" from long island. started playing together in a girl in rockville centre's basement. quickly wrote songs, about killing people with bricks, and NWA. recorded early demos on an emac computer, which once had to be carried four blocks to sax player Ben's house to record songs. early recordings consisted of one guitar, a bari sax, an alto sax, and a clarinet. a tenor, played by jj costable, can be heard a few times. odd and ends were used for percussion, like bongos, coffee cans with rice, rhythm blocks, tambourines, etc. for vocals, the band and all their friends sat around the computer and sang the songs as loud as they could. the weapons of mass seduction (or woms, as they and their friends call themselves) are: Kevin Renna-hits shit Jeff Skaferowsky-fingers Ben Katz-blows James Arnao-strokes Dan Clemens-whines/strokes Paul-buzzes and sometimes chris-alto sax The woms were joey picarello-vocals dennis marti-vocals julia-clarinet max jeshiva-alto sax kenny ascher-trumpet jj costable-tenor sax suzanne (kevin)-bone funkmasta jambro-ben lovell i don't think i'm forgetting anyone. the woms heavily take influence from the likes of bomb the music industry, defiance ohio, and against me! earlier, they ripped off song consciously and unconsciously, with chords that we later found out were in reel big fish songs (none of us liked them then, some of us still dont), weezer, and the people who sang i like to move it move it. lyrics were stolen, in part or in whol
