Following a fistful of limited edition releases on Fuckin’ Amateurs, MUZZeDIA VERHEAD, Matching Head and his own Infinite Exchange imprint, Geordie dronemeister Waz Hoola’s first silver-shiny CD proper comes courtesy of Red Guard Records. Beautifully packaged in hand-stamped & wax-sealed card sleeves this mammoth slab of immersive drone-hypnosis combines thick, centre-of-the-universe bass vibrations with passages of mountainous doom to create some fifty minutes of seriously soporific sound. Also responsible for mixing Bong’s mighty ‘Gilgamesh Lives’ album on Blackest Rainbow, this latest solo set blends the woozy, molecule-dissolving heaviness of Bong and like-minds such as Nadja, Sunn O))) & Black Boned Angel with the throbbing ambience and mesmeric detail of Kevin Drumm, Tim Hecker, Thomas Koner & Aidan Baker’s solo expeditions. Comprising just two tracks - ‘Infinity’ and ‘Reality’ - both of them clocking in at over twenty minutes apiece, the end result is a mind-altering excursion into deep drone bliss. Lie back and think of infinity… “…big throbbing bass drones…very dramatic indeed and recalling Kevin Drumm's recent drone work. The tension builds and suddenly I'm in a gloriously murky and simultaneously psychedelic world where I imagine halls of mirrors and liquid metal. I do really like this a lot, its sorta maximal drone gear with loads of other mind melting shit going off.” A Norman Records recommendation - 30th April 2010 “…fuses low-end doom-swell with layers
