waterproof goldstar is an indie artist and multi-instrumentalist based in Saratoga Springs, UT. their first EP, "help! my room has no light!" was released on July 1, 2024, and would go on to release several EPs from 2024 to 2025, carving a sound in the underground sadcore scene, with AceCrave, Duster, Will You, and lavender town likely as initial inspiration to move towards that style. in 2025, waterproof goldstar would shift away from sadcore and experiment with genres like alt-country with the waves on the stone EP, and a lo-bit indie folk sound with "if being holds the water, i don’t need me either", their first album. in 2026, they released canyon flourish town", a shoegaze project full of lush, dense soundscapes created by various layers of guitars, achieving synthesizer-like tones with the usage of various pedal effects and post-production methods as well as being credited as playing guitar, bass, and drums on all tracks.
