Hailing from Houston, Texas, visudo formed in 1995 as a two-man industrial project. The project was an experimental collaboration between local thrash/metal guitarist J. Vance Tyree and poet/lyricist Ryan Maisel. The project never got off the ground and eventually Maisel went his own way. In the summer of 1996, Tyree recorded a full-length industrial album under the name visudo. The music consisted of electronic drums and percussion, strings, keyboards, and guitars, all composed, arranged, engineered, and recorded by J. Vance Tyree. With the equipment on loan and only a single demo recorded on cassette, few heard the results of Tyree’s summer project. The demo was accidentally destroyed when a glass of Jack Daniels was spilled on it and the visudo project drowned with the tape. In 1998, Tyree decided to make a comeback, this time in an attempt to go fully digital. He worked for a year on an album that was much different from the original; it was fully electronic with little if any authentic instruments. Although a number of tracks were rendered and produced, the album was never realized. Again, in 2003, J. Vance Tyree, under the name visudo, produced a full-length album called "Released." With 11 tracks "Released" was the realization of visudo in what can be referred to as organic electro, a combination of electronic and authentic instruments arranged to create an organic experience. The album was ready and visudo was going to sell it guerrilla style—production by demand. H
