Even as a six-year-old girl banging out notes on the piano and writing songs about imaginary friends and swing-sets, it has been in singer/songwriter Erika Ricchini's blood to play music for anybody willing to listen. Eleven years later, she stood on a small stage with two friends. They had nothing but a keyboard, an electronic drumset, and an acoustic guitar. From the first note to leave her throat to the last resonating chord of their first set ever, the audience was utterly captivated by this new style of music. Enter: Troubador After a note was passed from Erika (Frontwoman) to Chris (Acoustic Guitar/vocals) in Algebra class, the band Troubador was formed and their growth has been rapid since that moment. Troubador has been a band for about two years and has experienced many opportunities that most bands never get to experience, Including playing live on Radio 104.5 Philadelphia and opening for acts such as The Ataris, Maps and Atlases, and The Glorious Unseen. They have played shows in New York City as well as Philadelphia and all over South Jersey. Their mesmerizing live show and captivating vocals draw the crowd in and make every show great. (As crowd participation is often encouraged) Their many influences include bands like: Deas Vail, Lydia, Eisley, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Sparklehorse, Sleeping at Last and Sigur Ros. Their universal sound draws love from fans that enjoy indie/experimental all the way to folk/country music. Journalist Jaquelin Voegltin write
