Having grown up with The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac rocker with heart and soul, that is Theo Lens. Born in Renkum, living and working on his farm in the eastern part of the Netherlands, he finally could make his dream come true: ROOTS! ROOTS was mixed by no less than Michael H. Brauer (history with among others The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Oasis and Bob Dylan). Michael H. Brauer had heard two numbers by LENS and invited him immediately to the SONY Studios in New York to mix his complete album. ROOTS is genuine, accessible rock with three guitars, bass, drums and characteristic vocals. Surrounded by new young guitar talent, this is a contemporary album, based on solid rock. Lens has been rewarded in 1983 for his album "Turning Point" and the single "Kick of the Dirt". He was teaching music and wrote the music for several TV programmes. In 1983 he and his band played as a supporting act for Cliff Richard, performing in front of an audience of thousands of people touring through United Kingdom and Europe. During his study at the music academy he had to limit his talents to classical music but the rhythm of rock-n-roll kept pounding in his head like a sledgehammer.
