the krypteia collective. is an idea that lies somewhere between the comforting isolation of a recording studio and the heavenly communion of a live show. Originally conceived as a way to record and release new music to friends, family, and interested parties, what the krypteia collective. has become is a mystery that will continue to unfold as ideas become realities… “This started like most things...as an idea. After that, the biggest adventure has been where these ideas have led,” says the krypteia collective. founder and architect, Joel De La Garza. De La Garza made the decision to record and release new material under a new name without any former association, pretense, or expectation after the dissolution of his former band. He set up a small recording studio in south Austin and began production on demos for a handful of songs he’d written. What resulted from these original sessions were acoustic arrangements that he realized had potential to become something more. After an initial well-received small acoustic showcase, De La Garza returned to the studio and began work on a new set of songs and a re-imagining of what the music experience could be in the ever-convergent digital world. The recordings feature world-class session talent including: Jack Irons (pearl jam, red hot chili peppers) Satnam Ramgotra (nikka costa, sting) Martyn Lenoble (dave gahan, porno for pyros) Scott Koziol (linkin park, kottonmouth kings) Teddy Kumpel (nine inch nails, janet jackson) Nick L
