Artist
the fischermen is a music project of Gabi Fischer, singer-songwriter from Novi Sad, Serbia. After being a part of the Serbian alternative foursome, TILL (www.facebook.com/thetillpage) for eight years, he has just embarked upon new territories of working on his own. His pieces are heavily influenced by works of classical music composers such as E. Satie, C. Debussy and F. Chopin. Not to forget, that the 20th and the 21st century bards including L. Cohen, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Nick Cave and David Eugene Edwards and the works of the masters of the modern, experimental guitar such as Marc Ribot, Lee Ranaldo, Thurston Moore and Efrim Menuch play a major part of the fischermen world of music. Accordingly, genres that can be heard in his songs span from panoramic, reverie-like, sonic, sometimes even post-rock driven journeys to more simple, folksy, Americana pop tunes. So far, collaborators for his non-instrumental works: Borislav Prodanović - drums (Emanuil, Orkestar gradovi utočišta, Magnetic Poetry, Mesta), Vlada Rašković - bass (till, Mnoжizvuk) Peđa Vernački - guitar (till, Emanuil, Magnetic Poetry, Stranded, Mesta) Boris Popov - accordion Filip Đurović (ex You) - drums Nikola Dražić - guitar His first solo album consisting of solely instrumental tracks, called Diary is due these days.
