The Brightlights got together as a band early 2005, three of them having attended the same school at Healing and the fourth some of them played with in the same football team. Really, they have all grown up together. The band consists of: Leon Blanchard, guitarist and singer, James Buxton, drummer, Luke Parker , keyboards and Adam Featherstone, bass. '3' is the cracking new single from Grimsby's finest, The Brightlights. Produced by Steve Power - best known for producing all of Robbie Williams' (good) albums - it's full of teenage angst and emotion whose subject matter is girls who take advantage of boys (you know who you are). Intricately driven licks and heart rendering drums highlight singer Leon Blanchard's startingly magnetic voice that sounds like a sonic marriage between Kelly Jones and Caleb Followill. The single also features 'Another Night', a rousing anthem detailing that age old dilemma - mates versus girlfriend and the consequences of both - that twists and turns and builds to an emotionally driven climax. So, something for everyone then. The Brighlights spent most of last year on the road gigging and despite having to juggle time of the road with studying for exams, still managed to notch up an impressive 200 plus shows, including an appearance at the V Festival and support slots with The Hoosiers, Scouting For Girls and The Rascals. www.myspace.com/thebrightlightssound User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional t
