The blotter project began in the summer of 2008. Brett Watts had just finished parting ways with his childhood band of no name, after many years of struggle and changes in musical directions. The idea for a experimental musical project had always been in the back of the mind of Watts' and he quickly made use of this opportunity of freedom to fool around in his brother bedroom or as he called it, a "home studio" in Mississauga Canada. The blotter project eventually released a short ep which was made available free to download. It consisted of three tracks each written and recorded in 3 days and then released. A fourth track was later added when it was created for a short film in London, Ontario. A few short lived projects have came to blossom, The Turnstone Blues Band and later We Sell Soul. Both groups collapsed after just a couple months but still managed to record a few tracks. Brett Watts continued to make experimental music while still pursuing hopes of a blues/rock band. He slowly moved further back in time towards blues, the root of all music. His sound is currently a mixture of 50's B.B.King style guitar with the atmosphere of Pink Floyd and a songwriting style that is his own. In 2014 a second E.P. was released with a collection of songs from the last few years prior. It contains a much wider spectrum of sound. Pulling from traditional African Music, American Blues, British Blues Rock, the 1960's Psychedelic sounds and traditional Eastern drones. Brett continu
