The Laughing Apple was an indiepop band that existed beween 1980 and 1981. Members Alan McGee who played bass and guitarist Andrew Innes had played in H20 and Newspeak while still in Scotland but formed Laughing Apple upon their move to London They self-released the three-song Ha Ha Hee Hee 7" in March of 1981 on Autonomy Records and their second single, Participate, was release a couple months later. After they broke up Alan McGee joined Biff Bang Pow! and started the Creation label. Drummer Ken Popple and second guitarist Dick Green also joined Biff Bang Pow!, and Green also became McGee's right hand man with Creation.
