Tape Club would never have gotten together if not for inclement weather. Jackson Kolt, Charlie Grey and a very merry, drunken band of scum-crusted hipsters were trapped when Hurricane Sandy battered the east coast. Luckily, they had power, plenty of beer and fresh cassettes to fuzzy up. The group recorded their first effort "Impromptu Pop" in three days, only remembered now through 4-track recordings and disposable film. An assorted cast, the collective has released three other albums to date. Rock & roller "Northport EP", folk-inspired "always eat apples", and the psychedelic "Magical Forever Time"--supported by solo efforts by Charlie Gray and two split EPs featuring Thomas Quinttus and emp|tea. The group is in the process of recording three albums, to be released in August.
