statiQ was formed in 2004 by generiq as an outlet for mellow downtempo beats. while statiQ is a collaborative effort featuring artists from around the globe, generiq is the primary contributor. inspired by every sound ever heard, generiq has almost 2 decades of experience creating orignal musiq with styles ranging from rock to hip-hop and everything inbetween including drum-n-bass - however, statiQ has been the primary focus since 2005. the sounds of statiQ are heavily influenced by 'the bristol sound' [Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, etc], and other European acts like Lamb, Sneaker Pimps, Boards of Canada, Imogen Heap, Björk and Little Dragon, as well as many stateside artists like DJ Shadow, DJ Spooky, 60 Channels, and Thievery Corporation. to date statiQ has yet to release any full length albums - only individual tracks, demos and mixes all released by generiq's in-house label generiq-musiq. statiQ is currently seeking other like-minded artists to collaborate with and further explore every dark corner of the musical realm...
