smiles wrapped in gauze is a band from around baltimore, md. 2012 - 2020 (present). kyle - vocals, guitar, cello, piano, art. (cheesey sounding, "more in-depth" to strangers part: influenced by a unique blend of post-hardcore, screamo, alternative, grunge, industrial, post-rock, & more, with elements of experimental art & (occasionally) noise. coming from a background in screamo, punk & metal, but want to push past those musical boundaries, and make something more. the music is treated as art, with intentions to say something, & hopefully mean something to someone. ceramic, paper-maché, and occasionally found-object sculptures are usually around, as well as candles. unique instrumentation is used, from cello, kyle playing guitar and sliding with one hand while playing keyboard with the other, a broken down-tuned electric mandolin, a warped acoustic guitar he found in the trash, xylophone, & diy drum-kits. from other bands, such as dry clouds, disassemble, the paris commune, etc.) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
