Jude started making and posting music around 2021. sleepwaters music can be categorized in the emo rap & digicore scenes, with some singer-songwriter based songs. Jude continued to post music until his untimely death on May 31st, 2023. 2. Starting in 2010 recording songs and atmospheres, written by songwriter Ad Opstals, sleepwater released their first record at the end of the same year. The album, simply called ‘sleepwater’, shows all the potential that’s in the band and the music, situated somewhere in the wasteland between alternative rock music and indie pop music. Raw, melancholic and subtle at the same time. Listen to the hypnotizing beauty of ‘She’ll Be Dancing’, then listen to the magical silence of ‘Lost’, then listen to the flooding power of ‘Secure the Room’ and you’ll get the point. The first of November 2012 marks the release of sunwritten, the second sleepwater album. On this album sleepwater shows the giant step the band has made since the first album. The songs have gained intensity, but are still unmistakably sleepwater, with a vast and often surprising use of instruments. At the same time the video 'The Shadow Of A Smile' is released.
