Skaivi was born and raised in the dynamic city of Chicago. Having Polish and Slovak heritage, she grew up multiculturally, especially residing within the Polish-American community (Polonia) of Chicago and its suburbs. While also liking singing, Skaivi’s main thing is electronic music composition and production. She doesn’t limit herself to one single subgenre. Instead, she creates whatever kind of song she feels like creating at the moment, whether that be a clubby techno tune or an out-of-the-box experimental piece. Skaivi likes to focus on sound design and all the little details that can make a song flourish, often adding magical, outer-spacey elements to her works. “Having that sort of otherworldly vibe is important to me, and something I feel is integral to my overall sound as a producer,” she says. Skaivi also has many musicians she admires that influence her and her writing, and many genres that captivate her, such as electronic, metal, disco, trap-pop, industrial, and alternative. Initially, Skaivi started as a lyricist, following in her mother’s footsteps. After she started gaining inspiration from her mother and other artists such as Tyler Joseph, she wrote her first lyrics at age 13. There were demos made of that song, as well as other ones that she wrote, but she had an intrinsic desire to make her music by herself, in the way she wanted.
