With the award of a Victoria Rocks Touring Grant in Jan 2008 having propelled her around Australia on national tour, Rosie Burgess has emerged onto the Australian music scene to firmly secure a place for herself and her unique brand of urban folkroots music. Playing straight from the heart, Burgess consistently shows us why she is being called "one of our country's best rising stars" [Coastfest 2008, NSW]. The release of her album, Humble Pie [MGM/PSR], last year saw Burgess's music hit the national stage, and with radio showing great support for the album, especially Triple J, it has been an exciting time for this passionate musician. With her the release of her highly anticipated, brand new studio album [MGM / PSR], "wait for the World", Burgess is set to raise the bar again. "When you have heard Rosie perform, you're sure to be tongue-tied trying to tell people how good she is..." says Dave Ritter, organiser of the Bruthen Festival of Blues and Arts. At festivals and major venues across Australia, Burgess has had the pleasure of playing along side some of Australia's finest musicians, including Ash Grunwald, Mia Dyson, Bill Chambers, Chris Wilson, Deborah Conway and Blue King Brown. With her quirky and original tunes, Rosie Burgess is captivating audiences wherever she goes.
