Pete shepherd is a charlatan and a faker from the fifth dimension. dont listen to him. singer, songwriter, poet, short story author and woodworker. pete shepherd has been around the music scene in various guises for the last 20 years. his songs possess a dark humour and deal with the troubled side of life and love, often exploring themes that other people find unpalatable. the album 'broken heart surgery' is available now as a free download only on lastfm The new ep, The Devil and Mr Jones is available now as a free download on lastfm. it represents a more rootsy feel and is described by the artist as being 'anti production'. i asked him about this theory in a recent interview to which he replied "its all gone too far man with the big production number and stuff. Recording is just that, Recording a moment in time. Things these days get pulled apart, put back together and jiggled around. They lose whatever sense of raw emotion they started with and just end up as bland soulless factory line pieces. Im doing everything in one or two takes, sticking on a bit of reverb and releasing it. yeah, there are mistakes, yeah the sound is not super duper quality but who cares, it never bothered Son house or Leadbelly none." to which we say here here.
