Parasite Nation (PN) was formed in year 2000 in SMIP, New Castle (Kota Bharu), labelled as an Inde/Alternative Rock band. Their original line up were Jimi(vocal+bass), Shah & Shakir(guitar) and Kalid(drum). Present, new member i.e. Merah (bass) joint in replacing Shakir. PN's influenced by punk-rock, grunge, hard rock and indee/alternative music that the band members grew up listening to in the 1990s and early 2000s, big name such as The Ramones, Nofx, Nerf Herder, Less Than Jake, Soundgarden, Silverchair, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, I Mother Earth, Terrorvision, Muthas' Day Out, Rancid, Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura, Blur, Oasis, Jet to Brazil, Ozma, Weezer, Wallflower, Garbage, Bush, Bad Religion, Green Day, Vandals, MXPX, Kiss, The Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Gun n Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, Skidrow etc. as well as local Malaysian band i.e. Subculture, Cromok, Pilgrim, X-trovers, 7 Collar T-shirt, Saturnine, Carburator Dung etc. The one and only demo-tape produced until present as uploded, was produced in 2002 titled 'Silicon Highway' dedecated to the emotional 'Lebuh Silikon' of UPM, Serdang. PN also performed in few gigs in KL, Terengganu, Selangor and Kelantan yesteryears.
