These Hands A band started as a response to the plight of starving newly formed bands just after the turn of the century. It appeared that many of them were affected by being really rich boys yet unable to live comfortably for fear of not being 'real'. Hence they starved themselves in order to gain 'authenticity' and 'integrity' so people would follow their careers from rags to riches. We helped raised awareness by playing small gigs and avoided the whole credibility issue with our apathy and cleverly contrived cynicism. However once the public accepted the bands for being rich boys, we no longer served a purpose and imploded, impaled on our own soapbox during our last gig in Aug 2005. A 9 month pregnant pause later and the two of us start jamming free from the restraints of any social cause and because we like to play but mainly because we are lazy and live near each other. The recordings are very primitive because we are wary of appearing too rich. We hope you enjoy us! Bio 2 [ p o c k e t s ] were a London (UK) 2 piece who started up in Spring 2006 and stopped Summer 2007. Comprising the founding guitar/voice and drums players from the departed These Hands (UK) they make fiery rock n' roll inspired by the spirit of originals like The Monks, Billy Childish, Bo Diddley but also modern mongrels such as The Hunches and Coachwhips.
