onDeadWaves is a UK duo consisting of Polly Scattergood and James Chapman (aka Maps). Their creative partnership was born in 2011 at Mute's Short Circuit festival, at London's Roundhouse. They paired up to perform each other's songs on a night where different collaborations between Mute artists were featured. James Chapman, better known as Maps, released his critically acclaimed debut We Can Create - later nominated for the Mercury Music Prize - in 2006. His, latest album Vicissitude, came out in 2013. Polly Scattergood, is an electrically-charged singer-songwriter who signed to Mute aged just 22 and whose second album Arrows was released in 2013. Polly and James convened at James' home studio in the countryside to craft their atmospheric and melodic sound.
