On a smoky winter night in the year 2000, Hatim Belyamani welcomed his alter ego into the world. The fledgling electro-acoustic sound sculptor was, for reasons that shall remain undisclosed here, dubbed officerfishdumplings. Out of the embryonic years spent in San Francisco came the first EP officerfishdumplings talks, you listen, now a rare collectible item. The officer then moved to Austin, where he performed at AMODA, KVRX, The Parish, Gallery Lombardi, Redrum, the Vortex, and the Church of the Friendly Ghost. One of officerfishdumplings’ electro-acoustic compositions can be heard on Flecktones saxophonist Jeff Coffin’s latest release, Bloom. Another piece features on the compilation one winter is notenuf, released in November 2005. His debut album officerfishdumplings finds your way home will be released on Notenuf Records in early 2006. officerfishdumplings wishes to pay his respects to his Creator, whose formative years were spent in Morocco, juggling "classical" music on the piano, and the heaviest of metal on the guitar. Mixing carefully crafted beats with acoustic improvisations, officerfishdumplings hopes to reconcile the alter ego with his master.
