mu▪sic▪firm ( myū'zĭk fûrm ): a professional posse producing original music for live performance and multimedia applications. Formed in 2005, musicfirm consists of Dave Gussin and Jesse Herbert and have produced over 30 tracks since its inception. musicfirm's productions combine acoustic instruments, percussion, synthesizers, on-the-fly jamming and effects. The resulting sound is spontaneously smooth, organic, housey and progressive. Biographies: Dave Gussin Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Dave currently lives in Ottawa. Exposed to music at a very young age, he studied classical piano and theory for fifteen years becoming an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music. He played in many bands, picking up sax and guitar along the way. While obtaining his degree in Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, Dave survived by the sounds of electronic music, modern & classic rock, jazz, blues and funk. Jesse Herbert Jesse has lived in many different countries, and has currently settled in Ottawa. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in Engineering, and provides Environmental consulting services in the area of air pollution. He started playing piano at the age of five, continuing his studies for fifteen years. He also plays guitar, bass, and sax, even teaching some through the years.
