MehrLicht is made up of two young producers from Bordeaux, France called Thomas Carmona and Matthieu Giralt. They combine and juxtapose the sounds of their classical music background and artists like Strip Steve and Bobmo of the electo scene of Bordeaux. The result is a massive, thumping sound draped in orchestral and choir harmonies. Their sound has been described as "electro-opera" and "cut up and totallly trashed old classical pieces transformed into rough dance music with a hardcore techno feeling to it". According to Thomas and Matthieu, MehrLicht began when experimenting with their first track 'Dies Irae' to see if they could "marry the power of electronic music to the emotion of classical music". Despite working as MehrLicht and with this sound for only a short time (since2006) they've created quite a buzz with their distinctive sound. They quickly recieved remixing work for the likes of DandiWind and more recently BlackGhosts. In 2007 they recieved a record deal for two tracks with a vinyl to be released around December '07.
