I am a Jazz/Blues Guitarist, Vocalist, Band Leader and Songwriter that has been playing music professionally in the Thunder Bay area for over 25 years. I have two bands..... The Mark Potvin Blues Band(Blues from the 20's to the 50's especially Chicago Blues) and Mark Potvin's Little Swing Band(Jazz from the 20's to the 50's). Throughout my musical career It has been an honor to have played with some of Canada's finest musicians. I've opened for some great acts, such as Colin James, Blue Rodeo, Paul Shaffer, Denny Dougherty, and Lighthouse. I played at both the 2005 and 2010 Thunder Bay Blues Festivals, and it has been my privilege to have performed at over 15 separate City of Thunder Bay "Summer in the Park" concert series events. In 2010 Mark Potvin's Little Swing Band was nominated for a Siggy Born Jazz Award for their live video performance of "Do You Make It Up As You Go Along" - sponsored by the Sudbury Jazz Festival.
