Mariposa Extension Number (stylized in all lowercase) is a pseudonym that artist Isaac Dunbar briefly released music under. In 2020, after sharing multiple snippets on Instagram lives filled with fans, as he commonly did, Isaac explored the idea of releasing this music. He branded this persona as the "anti-pop copycat pop star" (as per the Mariposa Twitter bio). Isaac went on to create separate Mariposa social media accounts, including Twitter, as mentioned earlier, as well as an Instagram and Soundcloud. His last Instagram post was on October 21st, 2020. On August 30th, 2020, Mariposa Extension Number released his first of what would go on to be three consequential extended plays, Guru. angel in bottle, the first track on the EP, is said to be the song that catalyzed the album's release. It is important to note that Guru was the only EP to make it onto both streaming and SoundCloud. On September 3rd, 2020, Mariposa released the chop chop! and force fed an apple pie EP's to SoundCloud only. The original tracklisting of the EP's has gotten distorted as time has passed. The only one that is accurate is Guru because of its subsequent release on streaming. The other tracklist inaccuracies can be chalked up to the short duration the music was available for listening and Isaac's extensive unreleased music catalog.
