Mahogany Throttle was a math rock band from Milwaukee, WI from October, 1999 until June, 2008. Consisting of Brent Allyn Budsberg on bass, John C. Gleisner III on drums, and David Joseph White on guitar, the group drew early influence from Don Caballero and King Crimson, mixing muscular polyrhythms with deft improvisations and performance art aspects. Mahogany Throttle played over 100 shows during their time, with the likes of U.S. Maple, Don Caballero, The Frogs, Pele', Collections of Colonies of Bees, Battles, Cheer-Accident, OKGO and The Danglers. Though their catalog included over 30 songs, only two albums' worth of material were recorded: Push Forward for Speed (Soutrane, 2000) and Traverse (Soutrane, 2003) a third album, Depth & Diving, was written but never recorded before the dissolution of the group. www.mahoganythrottle.com User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
