Leannan Sith began in Fernandina, FL around July 2004 when John Gould and Kelly Shippy decided on the name under which they would create music. All of the material featured John Gould. Most of the material featured both Gould and Shippy. Leannan Sith released their first self titled cdr in 2004 on NoNote, Gould's own label. More recordings took place during the 2004 hurricane season and subsequent material was released as a pair of cassettes called "Hurricane Tapes" also released on NoNote and distributed through 23 productions. A second cdr titled "In Search of..." was released by foxglove in 2005. Leannan Sith had a split release with Davenport on cassette released by 23 productions. Leannan Sith released a tour only 3" cdr titled "Deep into the Titan's Lung" in 2005 on NoNote. Leannan Sith had a track featured on the Davenport Family Boxset also released on 23 productions.
