Le Mous is an American ambient, experimental, electronic, soundtrack, downtempo, folk and lo-fi artist. He was born in Raleigh, NC and now resides in St. Paul, MN. He has lived in various places around the world, including Asia, the UK, the Middle East, San Francisco, Denver, San Diego and Minnesota. He began making music at the age of 12, on a drum set his parents bought him as a Christmas present. When he was 15 years old, he received his first guitar. He continued throughout his teens, 20s and 30s experimenting with violins, cellos, woodwinds, pianos, synthesizers and other instruments playing with local bands while teaching himself to read and write music, then eventually composing. He considers himself to be a multi-instrumentalist. Currently he uses a Taylor 814-CE acoustic/electric guitar, a Cordoba 45-R professional nylon stringed guitar, a BOSS GT-8 guitar effects processor, an EDIROL UA-1EX analog/digital capture device, a Korg Kaosillator and Audio Technica AT2020 USB mic. He also uses a custom 5-piece DW and Pearl drum kit with Zildjian cymbals. He records on a variety of 64-bit, x86 windows and linux laptops and uses an assortment of software, (as well as composing and sampling solely using iPhones and iPads) to mix and record with, including open-source Audacity.
