Karma Coma is a musical concept that fusions electronic trends with instruments like acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keyboards, cello and violin. The musical genres explored by the band goes from Downtempo and Electro, passing through Break Beat and Big Beat, to the most trepidant Jungles and Drum and Bass; all spiced with a big dose of Rock n’ Roll, some Bossa, Venezuelan Folklore and Far and Middle East sounds. The band was founded in December 1999 and resides in Barquisimeto (Venezuela). Members: Jesús Parra (Singer, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboards), Juan Medina (Electric Guitar, Keyboards), John Garcia (Bass), Antonio Rios (Violin), Manuela Rios (Cello), José Parra / ZoundColector (Beats & Synths), Dj Kü (Scratches), VJ Hill (Visuals). Recorded in an independent way, Karma Coma’s first album, “Ekádasi” is an anthology of 11 tracks that represent the diverse creativity stages that the band has crossed during 6 years. Starting with electronic music and experimenting with blends of diverse genres of contemporary music, Karma Coma defines their style as Folk-tronic. “Ekádasi” is a reflection of the urban Barquisimeto’s life, which served as a muse for this 50 minutes long album.
