jon and the angry flowers is a one-man alternative rock/indie rock band formed in Queens, New York in 2009. The only member is Jon (Guitar/vocals/bass/percussion [drums, drum machines, tambourine]) Jon's guitar sound is very similar to the sounds of bands of the early - mid 1990s, featuring heavily distorted guitars into overdriven tube amps and the inverse of that; jangly clean guitars played on amps at really low volume (in other words, he researched the rigs of some people and copied it), however, 15 year olds are usually unable to afford Marshalls, so Jon uses an Epiphone Valve jr. Common lyrical themes are depression, misanthropy, politics,, asian girls, having ridiculously shitty luck with trains and buses (he lives in New York, this is a huge problem.), and ironic humor. When the lyrics aren't awkwardly sung off-key, they're usually screamed, yelled, or shouted. Jon uses an Epiphone G-310 with a broken rhythm humbucker, an Agile AD-300, and an SX Hawk with some weird humbucker p90 things that aren't made by Gibson. These are run through overdrive, fuzz, distortion and delay pedals, and those pedals that don't really do anything important (compressors and BBE Sonic Maximisers and Sansamp things) Jon was born on January 19th, 1995, as you are able to guess, he is not one of those Koreans who can shred at age 5 and he is not dead yet. Jon is of mixed Indian descent, but I'm sure no one cares about that since he prefers being called Mexican anyway. Just like all artists
