iOi started out as the lyrical brainchild of Cal Hunter, years of writing suddenly turning from poetry into lyricism and eventually into music. After producing a solo demo 'Stargaze' and an independent movie soundtrack with producer Xin Projekt, Cal met Guitarist Aaron Darragh through a mutual friend and the two have proceeded to work on music since. The music of iOi revolves predominantly around the themes of Innocence and Reverie, and has a sound inspired by U2's soaring Joshua Tree-era alongside wide yet introspective landscapes from artists such as Vangelis, with the occasionally flurry of Trance, Shoegaze and Post-Punk influences. The first iOi album has been written and is musically in the making, it follows a storyline set on a yet-to-be-released companion piece book. iOi are soon to be playing shows across Northern Ireland and North America.
