Pianist Igor Naimark Igor Naimark is a pianist of outstanding temperament, technique and culture. His repertoire ranges from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works to contemporary and jazz music. Igor Naimark was born in Kharkov (Ukraine) in 1955, where hе started learning piano at the age of five. Не continued his studies in the Musical High School by the State Moscow Conservatory with Prof. Dmitry Bashkirov and in the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Prof. Yakov Zak, where he had individual classes on Bach’s music performance with Т. Nikolayeva, and participated in master-classes with Y. Malinin, L. Naumov and V. Merzhanov. Later, he studied at the Kharkov State Academy with Y. Smirnov, M. Yeshchenko and R. Horowitz, the sister of the renowned Vladimir Horowitz. After graduation in 1979, the pianist remained at the Academy for three more years to teach piano performance and worked as a soloist of the State Ukrainian Ukrconcert, he also participated with distinction in diverse piano competitions in Ukraine and Russia. Igor Naimark performed throughout the former Soviet Union with highly esteemed orchestras as well as the philharmonic societies of Moscow, Кiev, Odessa and Novosibirsk. From 1987 to 1991 he worked as a soloist of the Belorussian State Philharmonic Society. In 1991, Naimark settled in Israel. From 1991 until today he teaches at the Tel-Aviv Academy of music.
