Not knowing what to expect should be the mantra of any true Hollywood Marriage fan. With each album being driven by conflicting emotions and influences, each project is a unique experience all its own. Originally hailing from Mid-Missouri, Hollywood Marriage (led by front-man Mat Smith) has been known to shred a crowd to pieces with their epic progressive rock movements. S.G.'s and Marshall stacks man the helms as these boys earn the love of the patrons through loud, wailing rock. Other times, Smith can be found alone in a dimly lit bar playing an entirely different set of songs under the same moniker. Acoustic driven progressions flow together almost too naturally as the solo front-man takes the crowd down a dark, morose path of self-loathing and reflection. Whether with a full band, or in a smokey bar two things hold true: The lyrics are dark and creepily relatable (Nearly every line a double entendre) , and the story's told are from a scary yet hopeful place we've all been to at least once before. And Smith is willing to take us back again and again. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
