They were known for a dark, melancholic, smooth yet strong sound and image. In 1998 hanon began his solo project called MODEL UNKNOWN until female keyboardist yuu teamed up with hanon in October 2001, that's when hanon/no wave began. In December 2002 yuu left and zull (ex.Nookicky) joined the band which restarted as MONAURAL CURVE. Over the years there were tons of downloadable material available at their OHP that hasn't been found its way on a regular record. They used to self-cover themselves a lot so there was often more than just one version of a song. Other than that hanon/no wave even made covers by famous Japanese bands such as GUNIW TOOLS, YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA and Sheena & The Rokkets (シーナ&ザ・ロケッツ). The band mainly focused on lives at locations like 六本木Y2K and 本八幡ルート14 and their small amount of records were all limited for sale at concerts or mailorder. As of today there is almost no more information on them to find on the internet and it's unsure whether hanon has retired from the music scene or not since there is no website anymore that represents him.
