Self-recorded ambient, psychedelic sound collages with avant-folk / experimental music leanings. Maureen Gubia, (born October 11, 1984 in Guayaquil, Ecuador) is an artist with creative outlets including painting, animation and self-produced music recordings. Since 2006, under the alias of Gubia, experimental music collaborations with Un peu de thé (Poland), Psy-No-Ark (Ecuador), Matthew Mullane (USA), Ø+yn (Argentina), Philip Kruse (USA) and Leporian (Ecuador), amongst others, have taken place either in situ or via online. Audiovisual show with Psy-No-Ark: “Ataque y decadencia” at auditorium Cubo Negro, Universidad de Cuenca, Cuenca (2016) and noise collective Gwykqll: “XIII Festival Ecuatoriano de Música Contemporánea” at Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, Quito (2017).
