The Galatea Quartet from Zurich was founded in early 2005. Soon after they won the third prize as well as the audience prize at the Geneva International Music Competition, the first prize at the Migros Chamber Music Competition in 2007 and the third price at the international chamber music competition in Osaka. Since 2006 the quartet has been participating in the sessions of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) with professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Christoph Richter etc. In Zurich, the quartet was taking lessons with Stephan Goerner (Carmina Quartet). They also studied with the Artemis Quartet in Berlin. The quartet now performs numerous concerts in whole Europe and abroad (Japan, India, Egypt, Albania etc).
