Artist
Gabriele Rapino is a multi-instrument player and songwriter from Rome, Italy. It's fairly difficult to define his music, which at first sight deceives listeners as a easy listening one, with a pretty sophisticated construction, though. He's the only author of the lyrics, which take inspiration from small talks, with a blend of irony and melancholy. Comin from a heavy-metal background with the Lost State of Dream, he turns to indie-pop in the late nineties, and starts writing songs in Italian. His debut demo, "Ritmicamente" (1998) appears in the indie-wave movement in Rome, and with the single "La Metamorfosi" he reaches the semi-finals of the national award "Cantare Italiano" in 1999. Moving to Germany in 2001, he is appreciated as a thinking-out-of-the-box songwriter in Erlangen, where he wrote the eponymous single. In 2005 he starts recording his first solo album, "La Storia di Quel Tale" (2006), which has been entirely arranged, played and produced by himself. This album is available at http://www.incidi.net, a website he ideated as a means to facilitate independent production for songwriters and authors.
