about

foma. is the musical output of eighteen year old songwriter Trevor Grant. Having picked up the bass guitar to play for a garage band at age thirteen Trevor has since picked up a wide variety of instruments over the years which he has used to craft the stylings of his first independent release, “If There’s Still Snow,” a collection of five songs in which Grant wrote and recorded all of the instruments heard on the album. After four days in the studio with the album near completion Grant chose to release the music under the name foma., a word created in Kurt Vonnegut’s 1963 novel Cat’s Cradle meaning “harmless untruths.” After delving deeper into the meaning, Grant has decided to turn his musical pursuits into an ironic statement against the ideology of ‘foma’ by presenting and creating a natural and unaltered sound in both recorded in live performance settings.
