The official band desription (translated from their site with their permission): The story of DEGNERATE IDOL begins in the chaos of 1968 when the hyped London based vocalist Patrick S. and the three Bremen based musicians Space M. (git), Rolfus T. (b) and Rainer B. (dr) started to present their own songs and mashed-up b-sides of 60s and 70s songs in a loud fashion on stage. Successfully into the 80s their career crashed down to the ground with the death of their drummer; supposedly because of his drug-abuse (R.I.P.). The survivors dedicated themselves to their own drugs and projects respectively quit their musical engagement. Degenerate Idol vanished in the quick sands. A twist of fate and a booze-up dragged Space M. and Patrick S. back to the rehearselroom in 2003 and shortly after back to the stage; now supported by the bass-legend Ralf M. of the german "Ruhrpott", the drummer Karl P. from the Brandenburg area and a so-called Mr. Degenerate as voice no1 replacing Patrick S..
