darph/nadeR was born in the outskirts of Santa Rosa, California in 1999. Originally starting out as a duo, Jared Butler and Cory Thrall recorded their first 2 releases that year (the cassettes 'A:Tape Stereo System Vol.1' and 'this should be our space one!', each limited to under 20 copies!). more than a decade later, darph/nadeR had evolved in many ways - changing things up musically, recording/performing, and even nadeR membership, with the addition of a 3rd member, Nicole Hatley, in October 2009. Now as an experienced trio, nadeR continues to add to the more than 50 recordings under their belt, as well as a rather impressive live performance schedule. There name, for some trivia, was taken from the 70's Star Wars parody film "Hardware Wars", in which the Darth Vader character is named 'Darph Nader'.
