Broken Star are: Holger Hoesman: Guitar, Synth and Backing Vocals Rainer Robben: Drums and Backing Vocals Jürgen Schomakers: Bass, Synth and Lead Vocals The original band was founded in the late 1980s as BS One and played numerous gigs in northern Germany. Dirk Riegner joined the trio early as keyboarder. In the early 1990s the band split due to study reasons which took the band members to different places. After the coronavirus pandemic, the original band members re-formed the band in 2023 and re-named it to Broken Star. Broken Star crafts raw, cinematic indie rock with a heart full of nostalgia and a edge of rebellion. Blending atmospheric guitars, haunting melodies, and introspective lyrics, their sound echoes the grit of The War on Drugs, the emotion of Phoebe Bridgers, and the anthemic spirit of The Killers. With stories of love, loss, and small-town dreams, Broken Star turns personal moments into soaring, unforgettable soundscapes.
