A brief history about the band. Mark Segal (vocals, guitars) Bobby Stein (basses, vocals) Austin Faxon (drums, percussion) 1992 - A chance meeting between Faxon and Stein takes place over tater tots and overcooked beef in the Livingston dining hall at Rutgers University. Faxon says, "Hey, nice Soundgarden t-shirt. I play drums, you know." The rest is history. 1995 - The trio records their first and only self-titled album at Trax East, engineered by Steve Evetts and produced by Dan Roorda (Buzzkill). 1996 - Several songs from the band's flagship record are featured in the engaging and totally hip Kaplan: SAT Roadtrip '97 test prep software. No one notices or cares. 1999 - The band releases its second full-length, engineered and produced by Evetts. 2000 - Two BJG songs, Caught and Someone Press Stop were featured on the Discovery Channel in an episode of the television show "Outward Bound." 2007 - Indie film producer/director Adam Carrigan adds two Boss Jim classics (Boss Jim Gettys, No Fun) to score the film "Our Summer Movie." 2009 - Boss Jim Gettys reunites for one performance and is featured in Stuart Wexler's New Brunswick music documentary "Cruel But Fair." 2010 - With A Smile from the 1999 album Tigrebeat included on the Haiti benefit compilation "Make the Load Lighter" on Dromedary Records. All proceeds from the sale go to Haiti disaster relief. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
