blizzfrizz (pronounced "blitsfrits") is a band from Graz, Austria, that has been active on and off since 1978. Their sound ranges from electronic to psychedelic, from industrial to synthpop, with an affiliation to 80s, new wave and post-punk. Exploring genre boundaries and experimenting with different styles has resulted in a distinctive sound for the band that's not easily categorized and deliberately not mainstream. The current line-up consists of Reinhard Weixler (vocals, lyrics, guitar, synthesizer) and Andi Beit (keyboards, synthesizer, midi, loops, recording). Former members and contributors (between 1979 and 2010): Gerald Weixler, Anne Neu, Albert Eigner, Christian Paschinger, Ewald Oberleitner, Franz Posch, Fred Tezzele, Xao Seffcheque, Gerhard Wambrechtshamer, Gerhard Wennemuth, Giuseppe Chiari, Gogo Jesernik, Helmut Fritz (Ledl), Hubert Waldner, Ines Schober, Joe Bodner, Josy Hierzberger, Julean Simon, Kurt Gober, Doris Chrysler, Marc Keller, Peter Szammer, Rhys Chatham, Sigi Rottenmanner, Wolfgang Peisser, Erich Reinberger; As of 2014, the band is creating and recording new material and ramping up the frequency of live gigs in and around Austria.
