1991 - From Hip Hop to Techno. Beat Herren, aka DJ Fantasy Dream started playing techno music at several underground parties in Basel and its suburbs. In 1993, he was substantially involved in the opening of the Club "Soxx Dancehall", took over its management and was a resident DJ until 1996. During the same time made music at other clubs and parties in Switzerland, Germany, France and the Netherlands. At the beginning of 1995 Beat Herren teamed up with Stefan Hopmann and stepped into the European music market. With a record-contract at Adam & Eve Records, one of the top techno labels in Europe at that time, they were the first widely distributed Swiss production in Germany. Further releases at other labels were certainly only a question of time. With his party organization "Base", he organized many events in the Basle area. In 1995 “Base" organized a lovemobile and joined the Street Parade. Since then Beat organizes a lovemobile at the Street every year, in 2002 he joined the Street Parade society as a pro-active member. In 1997 Beat Herren changed his DJ and producer name from DJ Fantasy Dream to DJ Beat Herren. Together with Stefan Hopmann he founded the label “Bopp Records”. Oliver Schneider and Alexander Friedrich joined Bopp Records in 1999. In 2003 after 12 releases, Beat Herren closed down Bopp Records and focused on new projects.
